Overcoming Fears
As someone who primarily used my bike for transportation, I knew that riding in the rain was inevitable. However, the thought of it made me incredibly anxious and uncomfortable. That’s why I made it a personal mission to face my fear and ride through the rain, even if it meant being uncomfortable and dealing with the challenges that come with it.
The first few times were extremely difficult. My hands would become unbearably cold and my stomach would churn with nerves as I walked out the door. But I knew that I had to persevere, as biking in the rain was a necessary part of my daily routine.
After about two months of pushing through the discomfort, I started to embrace the rain and understand how to handle it better. I learned how to dress properly for the weather, as well as how to maintain control of my bike on wet and slippery roads. And even though riding in the rain was still far from my preferred way to bike, I no longer felt anxious or uncomfortable doing it.
In fact, facing my fear and pushing through the discomfort has given me a new sense of confidence and determination. It has taught me that I have the strength and skills to handle any weather condition, and that I am capable of facing other challenges that may come my way.
So, if you’re struggling with a fear or discomfort that is holding you back, remember that facing it head-on is the best way to overcome it. It may not be easy, but the rewards of conquering your fear are worth it. Whether it’s riding in the rain or tackling another challenge, know that you have the strength and resilience to succeed.
